10 years in prison for a pseudo -taxman from Kherson region: prosecutors have proven a collaborator's guilt in court

Under the public prosecution of the prosecutors of the Ivano-Frankivsk Regional Prosecutor's Office, the court found a resident of Kherson region guilty of collaboration activities (part 5 of Article 111-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine). He was sentenced to 10 years of imprisonment with confiscation of property.

In court, it was proven that the man held a position in an illegal authority and facilitated the implementation of the policies of the aggressor state in the temporarily occupied territory of Ukraine.

He switched to the enemy's side after the occupation of Kherson region, and by October 2022, he had received a pseudo-position as the deputy head of a department in the so-called "tax service management of the Russian Federation for Kherson region".

The pseudo-official performed administrative and economic functions, advised citizens on taxation under Russian legislation, and registered entrepreneurs who conducted business activities in the occupied territories.

He also promoted the enemy authority and participated in the filming of propaganda stories aimed at creating the illusion of a "prosperous life" under occupation.

A special pre-trial investigation in the criminal proceedings was conducted by investigators of the Security Service of Ukraine in the Ivano-Frankivsk region.
