13 years will hold a resident of Balakliya for collaborative activities - prosecutors defended their position in the Supreme Court

In courts of all instances, prosecutors proved that during the temporary occupation of the city, the convicted individual, being a citizen of Ukraine, supported the ideas of the military-political leadership of the Russian Federation and, having the intent to assist the aggressor state and its illegal law enforcement agencies, voluntarily collaborated with the enemy.

From June to September 2022, he held the position of a patrol police officer in the illegally established law enforcement agency on the temporarily occupied territory – the "Balakliia Police Department of the Izium District".

Prosecutors from the Office of the Attorney General upheld the conviction for collaborationist activities (Part 7 of Article 111-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine) in the Supreme Court.

He was sentenced to 13 years of imprisonment with confiscation of property.

The convicted individual did not admit his guilt.
