With the support of the public prosecution by the prosecutors of the Office of the Prosecutor General, the court found a major of the Air Force guilty of treason by prior conspiracy of a group of individuals (part 2 of article 28, part 2 of article 111 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine) and illegal handling of weapons (part 1 of article 263 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).

He was sentenced to 15 years of imprisonment with confiscation of property, including an arrested car and half a million hryvnias.

According to the court's verdict, the ex-major was recruited by employees of the Russian special services through his ex-wife – a former military officer. She remained in the temporarily occupied territory of the Zaporizhzhia region and began working for the enemy.

The subversive activities of the suspects were coordinated by a staff officer from the special operations department "Alpha" of the FSB of Russia. At his direction, the accused collected and transmitted information about the Ukrainian military aviation. Thus, the employees of the enemy's special services gathered information about the coordinates of operational airfields, logistics hubs, and maintenance centers for combat aircraft of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in Lviv region.

It is also known that the man, at the curator's instruction, activated numbers of Ukrainian mobile operators and transmitted them to his ex-wife. She distributed these numbers to enemy agents for use in subversive activities against Ukraine.

The issue of conducting a special pre-trial investigation regarding the ex-wife is under consideration by the court.

The pre-trial investigation was conducted by investigators of the Main Investigative Department of the Security Service of Ukraine with operational support from the Military Counterintelligence of the Security Service of Ukraine.
