Under the public prosecution of the prosecutors of the Cherkasy Regional Prosecutor's Office, a resident of the Zolotonosha district has been found guilty of committing intentional murder for selfish motives, robbery, and illegal possession of a vehicle (paragraph 6 of part 2 of Article 115, part 4 of Article 187, part 3 of Article 289 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine). 

By the court's verdict on October 16, 2025, he was sentenced to 15 years of imprisonment with confiscation of property.

The prosecutor proved in court that in February 2023, the man, while on the territory of his aunt's household, inflicted at least six blows to the woman's head with the handle of a "Makarov" pistol in order to seize her property. The injuries sustained were fatal.

After the murder, the man broke into the victim's residential house, where he stole 550 hryvnias and 8,000 US dollars, as well as took possession of her car. He then fled the crime scene.

Law enforcement officers detained the man and informed him of the suspicion in February 2023. Since then, he has been in custody.

The court's verdict imposed a sentence of 15 years of imprisonment with confiscation of all his property.

The pre-trial investigation in the criminal proceedings was conducted by investigators of the Investigative Department of the Main Directorate of the National Police in the Cherkasy region with operational support from the Criminal Investigation Department in the Cherkasy region.

Currently, the court's verdict has not entered into legal force.
