Under the procedural guidance of the Lviv Regional Prosecutor's Office, a former lecturer from one of the universities in Lviv has been exposed and detained.

According to the investigation, the detainee offered to organize the illegal transportation of a resident of Drohobych across the state border for 18,000 US dollars. According to the promised documents, the man was allegedly to serve in a diplomatic capacity at one of the international organizations. This would have allowed him to leave the territory of Ukraine without hindrance during martial law.

The fact of receiving part of the funds – 9,000 US dollars – has been documented within the framework of a criminal proceeding initiated under part 3 of Article 332 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The detention was carried out in accordance with Article 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine by investigators of the Lviv District Police Department No. 1 of the Main Directorate of the National Police in the Lviv Region under the procedural guidance of the Lviv Regional Prosecutor's Office and with operational support from the Security Service of Ukraine in the Lviv Region.

The former lecturer has been notified of the suspicion. Currently, a motion is being prepared for the selection of a preventive measure in the form of detention.

Note: according to Article 62 of the Constitution of Ukraine, a person is presumed innocent of committing a crime and cannot be subjected to criminal punishment until their guilt is proven in a lawful manner and established by a guilty verdict of the court.
