16.09.2025
Under the procedural guidance of prosecutors from the Mykolaiv Specialized Prosecutor's Office in the defense sector of the Southern region, a senior police lieutenant in the Mykolaiv region has been notified of suspicion for extortion and receiving an unlawful benefit of 2000 US dollars for influencing the decision regarding the non-draft for military service during mobilization and the release of a person brought to the RTC (part 3 of Article 369-2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
During the pre-trial investigation, it was established that the law enforcement officer, upon receiving a request from the head of an enterprise to clarify the situation with his employee, who allegedly was not subject to mobilization but had been brought to the RTC, stated that he would resolve the issue of his release from mobilization for 2000 dollars.
Subsequently, the police officer reported that he had taken the man from the RTC and was waiting with him in one of the villages in the region, to which the director of the enterprise, acting under the control of law enforcement agencies, arrived at this village and handed over the unlawful demand in the previously agreed amount.
The police officer was immediately detained by the SBU employees.
The Ingul District Court of Mykolaiv has chosen a preventive measure for the suspect in the form of detention with the possibility of posting bail in the amount of 454,200 hryvnias.
The pre-trial investigation in the criminal proceedings is conducted by the First Investigative Department of the State Bureau of Investigations in Mykolaiv, with operational support from the SBU in the Mykolaiv region.
