23 members of scam communities were notified of suspicion

Under the procedural guidance of prosecutors of the Prosecutor General's Office and regional prosecutors' offices, within the framework of a large-scale operation "WallHack", the activities of a number of scam communities were exposed, the members of which could be involved in the misappropriation of funds of citizens of Ukraine and the European Union.

During July – August 2026, law enforcement officers conducted a set of investigative and operational measures in Kyiv and 19 regions of Ukraine.

According to the investigation, members of scam communities used instant messengers to coordinate illegal activities and distribute links to phishing resources.

The fake websites imitated trading platforms, banking and government services, as well as the resources of international organizations. With their help, the attackers received payment data of citizens of Ukraine and EU countries, as well as access to accounts in remote banking systems.

As part of the operation, 239 searches were carried out, during which almost 600 units of computer equipment that could be used in illegal activities were seized.

In addition, thousands of links to phishing resources were blocked and 300 Telegram channels, with a total coverage of more than 5 thousand members, were terminated.

As a result of the measures, 23 people were notified of suspicion.

Currently, the analysis of information and digital data seized during the searches is underway. The full range of persons involved in illegal activities, victims, as well as the final amount of damage caused, is being established.

The pre-trial investigation is carried out by investigators of the National Police of Ukraine, operational support is carried out by employees of the Cyber Police Department of the National Police of Ukraine.

Employees of the National Bank of Ukraine and JSC Universal Bank (monobank) also contributed to the exposure of illegal activities.

Note: according to Art. 62 of the Constitution of Ukraine, a person is considered innocent of committing a crime and cannot be subjected to criminal punishment until his guilt is proven in a legal manner and established by a guilty verdict of the court.
