5 years in prison: a foreigner was sentenced for setting fire to a serviceman's car

The Bilocherkivskyi City District Court supported the position of the Bilocherkivskyi District Prosecutor's Office and found a 21-year-old citizen of a foreign state guilty of obstructing the lawful activities of the Armed Forces of Ukraine during a special period, as well as intentionally damaging someone else's property by arson (part 1 of Article 114-1, part 2 of Article 194 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).

The court sentenced him to 5 years of imprisonment.

Prosecutors proved that the man, seeking extra work, agreed in a mobile application to set fire to cars used by servicemen of the Armed Forces of Ukraine for money.

On October 28, 2025, he doused a car parked near one of the buildings in the city of Bila Tserkva with a flammable substance and set it on fire. The convicted man filmed his actions on a mobile phone, as he was to send the video as proof of completing the "task" and receive payment.

The man was detained in accordance with Article 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine.

Until the sentence takes legal effect, he will remain in custody.

The pre-trial investigation was conducted by the Bilocherkivskyi District Department of the National Police in the Kyiv region.
