Prosecutors of the Khmelnytskyi Regional Prosecutor's Office have sent an indictment to the court against the deputy head of the Kamianets-Podilskyi District Council for receiving illegal benefits for himself in exchange for influencing the decision of a person authorized to perform state functions, combined with extortion of such benefits (Part 3 of Article 369-2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).

The pre-trial investigation established that in April of this year, he offered a friend assistance in obtaining a lifelong disability group II for her daughter, which would subsequently allow her son-in-law to receive a deferment from mobilization.

In May, he informed that for a "positive" resolution of this issue, 5 thousand US dollars were needed. For this amount, he promised to influence the doctors of the expert group.

The official was detained at his workplace after receiving the funds.

He was chosen a preventive measure in the form of detention with the possibility of posting bail and was suspended from his position.

The pre-trial investigation was conducted by investigators of the Security Service of Ukraine in the Khmelnytskyi region.
