Under the procedural supervision of the Kyiv City Prosecutor's Office, a pre-trial investigation has been launched into the russian federation's commission of a war crime that resulted in the death of people (Part 2 of Article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
As a result of a large-scale combined attack on Kyiv on July 31, as of 8:30 a.m., six people are known to have been killed. Among them is a 6-year-old boy whom they tried to resuscitate. At least 30 people are known to have been injured, including a 5-month-old girl. Three police officers were also injured.
The Holosiivskyi, Sviatoshynskyi, Solomianskyi, and Shevchenkivskyi districts of Kyiv suffered the most damage as a result of the russian attack. In total, 16 high-rise buildings were damaged as a result of the shelling.
In the Sviatoshynskyi district, the entrance to a residential building was destroyed, and a rescue operation is currently underway to search for people under the rubble.
In the Solomyanskyi district, the roof and apartments on the top floor of a four-story residential building were partially destroyed, and in another building, a fire broke out in an apartment on the top floor.
School and university buildings were also damaged.
The final consequences of the attack on Kyiv are being determined. Rescuers and law enforcement officers are working on site and documenting yet another war crime committed by the russian military.
A pre-trial investigation is being conducted by investigators from the Main Department of the Security Service of Ukraine in Kyiv and the Kyiv region.
