The former director of the enterprise was exposed for embezzling budget funds allocated for the repair of the state road of national significance R-21 Dolyna – Khust.

According to the investigation materials, from October 2020 to December 2021, he facilitated the forgery of official documents and inflated the cost of asphalt mixtures and asphalt laying works. Subsequently, he approved and submitted to the customer over 30 certificates and acts of acceptance of completed construction works with fictitious data.

As a result of the illegal scheme, the former director of the enterprise embezzled over 8.4 million UAH, as confirmed by the expert's conclusion.

His actions were classified as embezzlement of someone else's property in especially large amounts through abuse of his official position, committed in conspiracy by a group of individuals, as well as official forgery (part 5 of Article 191, part 1 of Article 366 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).

Currently, the issue of choosing a preventive measure for the suspect is being resolved. The prosecution will petition for his arrest.

Within the framework of the investigation, the involvement of other individuals in the committed crime is being established.

Under the procedural guidance of the Transcarpathian Regional Prosecutor's Office, the pre-trial investigation in the criminal proceedings is being conducted by investigators of the Main Directorate of the National Police in the Transcarpathian region with operational support from the regional SBU office.

Note: according to Article 62 of the Constitution of Ukraine, a person is presumed innocent of committing a crime and cannot be subjected to criminal punishment until their guilt is proven in a lawful manner and established by a guilty verdict of the court.
