27.09.2025
With the support of the public prosecution by prosecutors of the Specialized Environmental Prosecutor's Office of the Kherson Regional Prosecutor's Office, a deputy of the Kakhovka District Council has been found guilty of collaboration activities (Part 5 of Article 111-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
The court has sentenced him to 9 years of imprisonment with confiscation of property. Additionally, he has been deprived of the right to hold positions in state authorities and local self-government, as well as to engage in activities related to the provision of public services, for a period of 15 years.
The investigation established that in September 2022, the convicted individual agreed to cooperate with the occupiers and took the position of the so-called "head of the land relations department of the Department of Breeding Livestock, Crop Production, and Land Relations" in the "Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries of the Kherson Region" created by the invaders. By November, he had already headed this "department".
In this pseudo-position, the man formed the apparatus of an illegal authority, organized its activities, and controlled the agricultural sector. In particular, he was involved in the re-registration of agricultural enterprises under Russian legislation.
The verdict was rendered in absentia. The actual serving of the sentence will begin upon the arrest of the convicted individual.
The special pre-trial investigation in the criminal proceedings was conducted by the Security Service of Ukraine in the Kherson region.
