Millions Scam: Prosecutor's Office and DBR reported suspicion of the State Forestry Expert already

According to the investigation, the suspect, while serving as the acting head of the State Enterprise "Zhovtneve Forestry," entered into a number of timber supply contracts with a private company.
According to the terms of the specified agreements, a mandatory 100% prepayment for the products was required.
Despite the contractor's failure to fulfill financial obligations, the official organized the supply of timber without prior full payment, resulting in significant accounts receivable.
As a result of this "scheme," the state enterprise lost over 5.5 million UAH.
Under the procedural guidance of the Kharkiv Regional Prosecutor's Office, the forestry official has been notified of suspicion of abuse of office, that is, intentionally, for the purpose of obtaining any unlawful benefit for another legal entity, using his official position contrary to the interests of the service, which caused severe consequences for the legally protected state interests (part 2 of Article 364 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine). The sanction provides for imprisonment for a term of three to six years with deprivation of the right to hold certain positions or engage in certain activities for up to three years, with a fine of five hundred to one thousand non-taxable minimum incomes of citizens.
Currently, the suspect does not hold the specified position.
