Today, July 21, 2025, the Shevchenkivskyi District Court of Kyiv has arrested the suspect Andrii Molochnyi for 60 days in connection with a fatal traffic accident in the center of Kyiv, until September 17, 2025.

The Attorney General - senior prosecutor Ruslan Kravchenko, during the court session, requested the court to apply a preventive measure to the suspect without the possibility of bail. The court supported the prosecution's position.

“As a result of today’s hearing regarding the selection of a preventive measure in the form of detention without the application of an alternative preventive measure and without bail, we, as the prosecution, are satisfied. We will continue to work until the indictment is sent to court, and then we will support the state prosecution to achieve one goal – maximum punishment”, emphasized the Attorney General.

Recall that on the evening of July 19, 2025, the suspect drove into a pedestrian zone and hit a woman who was walking on the sidewalk. The victim died from her injuries.

The driver's actions have been classified under part 3 of Article 286-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, namely, violation of traffic safety rules committed while in a state of alcohol intoxication, which resulted in the death of the victim.
