Cherkasy region: Two persons were reported suspected of attempting to influence and obstruct the work of the shopping center

In Cherkasy region, the exposure of offenses related to the activities of territorial recruitment centers continues. Law enforcement officers documented a case of an attempt to influence the decisions of officials for a bribe and a fact of obstructing the work of the TRC by disseminating information about their activities.

Thus, prosecutors of the Cherkasy District Prosecutor's Office reported suspicion against an associate professor of one of the universities in Cherkasy under part 3 of Article 369-2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine for extortion and receiving illegal benefits. She faces a sentence of three to eight years in prison with confiscation of property.

According to the investigation, the suspect promised a conscript to influence the officials of the district TRC to remove him from the wanted list and exclude him from military registration. In addition, she assured that she could negotiate with representatives of medical institutions to establish a fictitious diagnosis and disability group, as well as with members of the military medical commission to formalize a decision on unfitness for military service due to health reasons.

The fact of receiving 12,000 USD was documented by law enforcement. Currently, the issue of choosing a preventive measure in the form of detention is being resolved.

The pre-trial investigation is being conducted by investigators of the Cherkasy District Police Department of the National Police in Cherkasy region with operational support from the Security Service of Ukraine in Cherkasy region.

Also, under the procedural guidance of the Cherkasy Regional Prosecutor's Office, investigators of the Security Service of Ukraine in Cherkasy region reported suspicion against a 26-year-old resident of Cherkasy district for obstructing the lawful activities of the Armed Forces of Ukraine during a special period (part 1 of Article 114-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine). He faces a sentence of five to eight years in prison.

The investigation established that the suspect, during July-August 2025, administered a group on "Telegram" created to disseminate information about locations in the Kaniv region where representatives of the TRC and SP notify citizens (delivery of summonses), as well as about their movement routes. The dissemination of such data allowed residents of the region to avoid the TRC and police, facilitating evasion of military duty.

Currently, the activities of this internet community have been blocked.

The collection of evidence and operational support for the criminal proceedings are provided by employees of the Security Service of Ukraine in Cherkasy region.

Note: according to Article 62 of the Constitution of Ukraine, a person is presumed innocent of committing a crime and cannot be subjected to criminal punishment until their guilt is proven in a lawful manner and established by a guilty verdict of the court.
