Deportation of the Crimeans from the territory of the peninsula: another occupation "servant of Themis" was convicted in absentia

Under the public prosecution of the autonomy's prosecutor's office, an occupying judge of the Yevpatoria City Court of the Republic of Crimea has been sentenced in absentia to 12 years of imprisonment with confiscation of property. He was found guilty of violating the laws and customs of war and treason (Part 1 of Article 438, Part 1 of Article 111 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).

The convicted individual is a citizen of Ukraine who worked as a judge of the Yevpatoria City Court of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea since 2012.

Prosecutors in court proved that after the occupation of the peninsula, he betrayed his oath and sided with the enemy, taking the position of "judge of the Yevpatoria City Court of the Republic of Crimea."

Implementing the policy of the Russian Federation aimed at changing the demographic composition of the population of Crimea, in 2016-2018, this "servant of Themis" found two citizens of Ukraine guilty of allegedly "allowing foreigners to violate the rules of entry or stay on the territory of the Russian Federation" and made illegal decisions regarding their deportation from the peninsula.

However, no permits from the occupying administration for the residence of citizens of Ukraine in the temporarily occupied territory of the peninsula are provided for by Ukrainian legislation and norms of international humanitarian law.

By the decree of the President of Ukraine dated June 11, 2023, the decision of the National Security and Defense Council was put into effect, which imposed personal special economic and other restrictive measures (sanctions) against him.

The special pre-trial investigation was conducted by the Main Investigation Department of the National Police in the Autonomous Republic of Crimea and the city of Sevastopol.
