Prosecutors of the Chernivtsi Regional Prosecutor's Office have sent an indictment to the court against the director of a housing construction cooperative under Part 1 of Article 212 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine — evasion of tax payments in large amounts.

It has been established that from March 2024 to February 2025, he transferred 30 apartments to associated members of the cooperative with a total value of over 29 million UAH. However, the director intentionally did not register as a VAT payer and did not declare mandatory tax payments, thereby avoiding the payment of VAT in the amount of over 5.5 million UAH.

The pre-trial investigation was conducted by detectives of the Territorial Department of the Bureau of Economic Security in the Chernivtsi region.

Note: According to Article 62 of the Constitution of Ukraine, a person is presumed innocent of committing a crime and cannot be subjected to criminal punishment until their guilt is proven in a lawful manner and established by a guilty verdict of the court.
