A man was sentenced to 10 years in prison for providing the Russian special services with data on the deployment of air defense systems in Odesa

With the support of the public prosecution by prosecutors from the Office of the Attorney General and the Pechersk District Prosecutor's Office of Kyiv, the court found a 58-year-old man guilty of unauthorized dissemination of information about the deployment of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and illegal possession of ammunition (Part 3 of Article 114-2, Part 1 of Article 263 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine). He was sentenced to 10 years in prison. 

It was established that the man moved to Odesa with his family from Luhansk region and later, through acquaintances, established connections with representatives of the Russian special services. 

Carrying out their tasks, after the start of the full-scale invasion in 2022, the convicted man gathered intelligence on the positions of air defense in the Odesa region and sent coordinates, photos, and videos of the air defense positions, assisting the enemy in adjusting missile strikes on the region. 

During a search, a grenade and ammunition for firearms were also found with the detainee. The accused did not admit guilt.

He is in custody.
