Up to 11 years in prison was condemned in absentia by a military Russian, which during the occupation of Sumy region was severely treated with a farmer and robbed him

Under the public prosecution of the Sumy Regional Prosecutor's Office, a 22-year-old serviceman of the 2nd Guards Tamanskaya Motor Rifle Division of the 1st Tank Army of the Western Military District of the Russian Ground Forces has been found guilty of violating the laws and customs of war (Part 2 of Article 28/Part 1 of Article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).

By the court's verdict, he was sentenced in absentia to 11 years of imprisonment.

The prosecutor proved in court that on March 24, 2022, during the occupation of the Sumy region, armed soldiers of the aggressor country entered the home of a farmer. The invaders threatened to shoot the man's legs, demanding currency and other valuables. To convince the farmer of the seriousness of their intentions, the convicted man fired several shots into the ground.

The occupiers took smartphones, a laptop, a generator, a chainsaw, a battery, and 5,000 UAH from the household, and then also shot at the victim's car.

The special pre-trial investigation was conducted by investigators of the Security Service of Ukraine in the Sumy region under the procedural guidance of the prosecutor's office.
