Up to 15 years in prison was convicted of a participant

Under public prosecution by the prosecutors of the Kharkiv Regional Prosecutor's Office, the court found a citizen guilty of treason and committing a terrorist act (part 2 of Article 28, part 2 of Article 111, part 2 of Article 258 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine). He was sentenced to 15 years of imprisonment with confiscation of property.

Prosecutors proved that the unemployed resident of Kharkiv supported pro-Russian ideology and had been acquainted since childhood with a representative of the aggressor state — a career intelligence officer of the Main Directorate of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation (GRU), who operated from temporarily occupied Donetsk. It was under his coordination that the convicted individual committed crimes in the territory of Kharkiv and the region. An agent network operated in the city, created under the supervision of this GRU representative. It included three other individuals who have already received guilty verdicts.

In March 2024, acting on the instructions of his curator, the convicted individual set fire to a relay cabinet on one of the railway platforms. He sent a video report of the completed "task" to the GRU representative.

Additionally, together with an accomplice, in June 2024, he organized the detonation of a vehicle belonging to a serviceman of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in Kharkiv. They monitored the victim and planted an explosive device with a timer under his car. The explosion occurred when the defender got into the vehicle, resulting in injuries.

Moreover, the man hid two metal "trampolines" in the forest belts near the railway tracks. From June to August 2024, he, along with an accomplice, monitored the movement of trains, preparing to install devices that could cause accidents. Such actions were part of a plan to disrupt the logistics of the Armed Forces of Ukraine — the detonation of the tracks was intended to hinder the transportation of equipment to the front lines. The convicted individual received further instructions on identifying other military vehicles that were to become the next targets for detonation. However, the plans could not be realized — he and three accomplices were exposed by law enforcement.

The resident of Kharkiv awaited the verdict in custody. He fully admitted his guilt.

The pre-trial investigation and operational support were carried out by the Security Service of Ukraine in the Kharkiv region.
