Up to 6 years of imprisonment condemned a man who tortured two young children cohabitant

Juvenile prosecutors of the Chernihiv Regional Prosecutor's Office have proven the guilt of a man who, while intoxicated, abused an 11-year-old girl and a 12-year-old boy for five days for picking a neighbor's peaches without permission. He beat the children with improvised means: metal and wooden sticks, an ax, a knife. The man also caused minor injuries to his partner, who tried to stop him.

As a result of the torture, the children suffered multiple fractures of the upper limbs, a closed brain injury, and a significant number of abrasions and hematomas throughout the body.

The court found the man guilty under part 1 of Art. 127, part 1 of Art. 125 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine and sentenced him to the maximum possible sentence - 6 years of imprisonment.

He pleaded not guilty to the charges. The perpetrator will remain in custody until the verdict becomes final.

The pre-trial investigation was carried out by investigators of the Investigation Department of the Main Directorate of the National Police in the Chernihiv region.
