A woman who filmed locations of military installations was sentenced to 8.5 years in prison

Under the public prosecution of the Poltava Regional Prosecutor's Office, a resident of Poltava has been found guilty of disseminating information about the location of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, with the possibility of their identification in the field, if such information was not publicly available from the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, or other authorized state bodies, committed under martial law, for selfish motives (part 3 of Article 114-2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).

The woman has been sentenced to 8.5 years of imprisonment.

Prosecutors proved that in 2024 she received an offer from an FSB employee of the Russian Federation via Telegram to gather information about military formations and equipment in exchange for monetary reward.

In January and February 2025, the woman recorded the locations of military facilities with a mobile phone camera from various angles. Subsequently, she sent more than 20 photographs and video materials to the customer via messenger.

Until the sentence takes legal effect, the accused will remain in custody.

The pre-trial investigation and operational support in the criminal proceedings were carried out by investigators and employees of the Security Service of Ukraine in the Poltava region.
