To life imprisonment was condemned by Poltava, who with the use of weapons resolved the housing issue

Under the public prosecution of the prosecutors of the Poltava District Prosecutor's Office, a resident of Poltava has been sentenced to life imprisonment for intentional murder committed by a person who had previously committed intentional murder, causing minor bodily harm, and making threats to kill (paragraph 13 of part 2 of Article 115, part 2 of Article 125, part 1 of Article 129 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).

In May 2024, the resident of Poltava came to a house where his ex-wife had allowed acquaintances to live for free. The man did not like how the so-called tenants were living. Threatening them with physical violence, he began to demand that they vacate the premises.

In August of the same year, the resident of Poltava, while intoxicated, came to the house and during a conflict over the housing, shot his ex-wife's acquaintance with a "Stalker" pistol and injured her cohabitant. When the victim attempted to seize the weapon, the resident of Poltava stabbed him in the chest with a knife, causing minor bodily injuries.

The man partially admitted his guilt; however, based on the collected evidence and conducted examinations, the court agreed with the prosecutors' arguments. Moreover, the mentioned crimes were committed by the resident of Poltava while having an unexpunged and unsuspended conviction for beating his disabled son. He also had previous legal issues – he served a sentence for the intentional murder of his wife's acquaintance.

Currently, the convicted individual is in custody. The time for appealing the court's decision is ongoing.
