05.01.2026
Prosecutors of the Kherson Regional Prosecutor's Office have sent an indictment to the court against a local resident for treason (part 2 of Article 111 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
The investigation established that in the spring of 2025, the accused transmitted detailed information to the enemy about the location and movement of the Security and Defense Forces, the locations of checkpoints, the placement of military equipment, as well as the coordinates of critical and strategic infrastructure objects that connect the left and right banks of the Kherson region. For this purpose, he used Google tags.
The data obtained from him could be used by the occupiers to carry out targeted strikes on Kherson with various types of weapons, including aviation strike means. After the attacks, the accused informed his curators about the consequences of the shelling.
Law enforcement officers detained the man in August 2025 and seized mobile phones, system drives, and a system unit containing evidence of illegal activities from him.
Currently, the accused is being held in custody, where he will await the court's verdict.
The pre-trial investigation was conducted by investigators of the Security Service of Ukraine in the Kherson region.
Note: according to Article 62 of the Constitution of Ukraine, a person is presumed innocent of committing a crime and cannot be subjected to criminal punishment until their guilt is proven in a lawful manner and established by a guilty verdict of the court.
