Prosecutors of the Kyiv Specialized Prosecutor's Office in the Defense Sector of the Central Region have submitted an indictment to the court against a serviceman for violating traffic rules, which resulted in the death of several individuals (Part 2 of Article 415 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).

It has been established that on September 8, 2025, at approximately 05:50, while driving on Olena Teliga Street in Kyiv, the accused exceeded the speed limit and lost control of the vehicle. At the intersection of Olena Teliga and Olzhych Streets, he entered the oncoming lane, colliding with a taxi. The taxi driver and his passenger died at the scene from their injuries.

The results of forensic engineering and transport examinations confirmed that there were no signs of alcohol or drug intoxication in the serviceman.

Since the beginning of the pre-trial investigation, the accused has been in custody. He faces a penalty of imprisonment for a term of five to ten years.

The pre-trial investigation was conducted by the Territorial Department of the State Bureau of Investigations located in Kyiv.

Note: According to Article 62 of the Constitution of Ukraine, a person is presumed innocent of committing a crime and cannot be subjected to criminal punishment until their guilt is proven in a lawful manner and established by a guilty verdict of the court.
