To Ukraine from Poland, a resident of Kamianets-Podilsky was extradited to serve a sentence for bribery of the investigator

Thanks to the joint efforts of the Khmelnytskyi Regional Prosecutor's Office and the Kamianets-Podilskyi District Court, a resident of the city of Kamianets-Podilskyi has been extradited by the competent authorities of the Republic of Poland. He was convicted in Ukraine for offering and providing an unlawful benefit to a public official (part 3 of Article 369 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).

In May 2020, he gave a police investigator a bribe of 4 thousand hryvnias to avoid being held criminally liable for a theft he had committed earlier.

The court found the man guilty of committing the crime and sentenced him to 5 years of imprisonment with confiscation of property, except for housing. The verdict was issued in 2023. Before the sentence came into legal force, the convicted individual left the territory of Ukraine, which led to him being placed on an international wanted list at the initiative of the prosecutors of the Khmelnytskyi region.

In March 2025, the extradited individual was detained on the territory of Poland, and on July 17, he was handed over to Ukrainian law enforcement authorities at the international checkpoint "Ustyluh – Zosin."
