31.07.2025
Under the procedural guidance of prosecutors from the Office of the Attorney General, a citizen of Ukraine has been exposed for passing information to the enemy about chemical industry facilities of defense significance.
According to the investigation, a resident of Dnipropetrovsk region, who previously worked at a state-owned chemical enterprise, collected and transmitted data about the location of production facilities of a strategic object to representatives of the aggressor country. This information was used by the enemy to plan strikes against the enterprise.
Moreover, after being mobilized into the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the individual intended to continue activities in favor of the enemy — already in the form of "targeting" Ukrainian military positions.
The perpetrator has been detained. Prosecutors from the Office of the Attorney General have informed him of the suspicion of treason committed under martial law (Part 2 of Article 111 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine). Currently, the issue of choosing a preventive measure — detention — is being resolved.
The investigation is being conducted by investigators from the Main Directorate of the Security Service of Ukraine with operational support from the Department for the Protection of National Statehood.
Note: according to Article 62 of the Constitution of Ukraine, a person is considered innocent of committing a crime and cannot be subjected to criminal punishment until their guilt is proven in a lawful manner and established.
