Prosecutors of the Specialized Prosecutor's Office in the Defense Sector of the Southern Region confirmed in the Supreme Court the verdict against the former head of the Mykolaiv District Prosecutor's Office, who assisted the aggressor state in waging war against Ukraine.

He was found guilty of treason in a state of war (Part 2 of Article 111 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine) and sentenced to life imprisonment, with confiscation of all property.

Prosecutors in courts of all instances proved that during March-April 2022, the former head of the district prosecutor's office, on his own initiative, assisted the aggressor state in waging war against Ukraine. 

The convicted individual provided representatives of the Russian Federation with information at his disposal of a military and operational nature regarding the current situation in the city of Mykolaiv and Mykolaiv region. 

This includes the consequences of missile strikes on civilian infrastructure, lists of deceased servicemen, law enforcement officers, and civilians, as well as passwords for passing through checkpoints.  

The pre-trial investigation was conducted by investigators of the Security Service of Ukraine in the Mykolaiv region.
