Under the procedural guidance of juvenile prosecutors from the Office of the Prosecutor General, two foreign citizens have been notified of suspicion for recruiting minors and underage children for sexual exploitation, their corruption, as well as for the production and distribution of child pornography under Part 3 of Article 149, Part 2 of Article 28, Part 1 of Article 156, and Part 4 of Article 301-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
The investigation has established that a 33-year-old and a 55-year-old man, while in Ukraine for several months, were seeking children from low-income families. Taking advantage of their difficult financial situation, they paid 150–200 euros for further sexual exploitation. In addition, they committed lewd acts against the children, which they recorded on mobile phones, and then distributed the produced materials on the Internet.
The notification of suspicion has been sent to the competent authority of the state where the mentioned foreigners are residents. They face up to 15 years of imprisonment.
The pre-trial investigation is being conducted by the Main Investigation Department of the National Police of Ukraine.
Note: according to Article 62 of the Constitution of Ukraine, a person is presumed innocent of committing a crime and cannot be subjected to criminal punishment until their guilt is proven in a lawful manner and established by a court verdict.
