"Guaranteed Work" in DBR - Kharkiv will be tried for fraud

Prosecutors of the Kharkiv Regional Prosecutor's Office have sent an indictment to the court against a 47-year-old man for the completed attempt of fraud committed under martial law (Part 2 of Article 15, Part 4 of Article 190 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).

A resident of Kharkiv offered a man "assistance" in securing a job as an investigator at the State Bureau of Investigations. He claimed to have influential connections within this law enforcement agency that allegedly allowed him to ensure a positive outcome in the competitive selection process without any obstacles. He valued his "services" at 20,000 US dollars. At the same time, he emphasized that to begin the submission of documents for the competition, the first tranche of 10,000 US dollars needed to be transferred.

Law enforcement officers detained the suspect in February 2025 while he was receiving the agreed amount.

Note: according to Article 62 of the Constitution of Ukraine, a person is presumed innocent of committing a crime and cannot be subjected to criminal punishment until their guilt is proven in a lawful manner and established by a guilty verdict of the court.
