The Attorney General Ruslan Kravchenko met with the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the Swiss Confederation in Ukraine, Felix Baumann.
At the beginning of the meeting, Ruslan Kravchenko expressed his sincere gratitude to Switzerland for its unwavering support of Ukraine, both at the diplomatic level and through the provision of humanitarian aid.
The Attorney General emphasized the importance of Switzerland's support in establishing a Special Tribunal for the crime of aggression against Ukraine and thanked them for their involvement in the work of the Register of Damages caused by Russian aggression. He specifically noted the significance of Switzerland's efforts in conducting its own investigations and gathering evidence of international crimes.
Ruslan Kravchenko outlined the main priorities in the work of the prosecution authorities: documenting and investigating war crimes committed by the Russian Federation, preparing for the launch of the Special Tribunal, protecting children's rights, particularly the return of children illegally deported by Russia to Ukraine, as well as ensuring proper legal protection for national and international investors.
A separate block discussed the prospects for post-war reconstruction of Ukraine – not only in the economic sphere but also in implementing transitional justice. The Swiss Ambassador assured of his country's readiness and interest in participating in these processes.
Concluding the meeting, Ruslan Kravchenko emphasized that strengthening international cooperation remains one of the key areas of work for the Office of the Attorney General, particularly in the field of extradition.
