GPS tracker under a military car: a Russian agent will be tried in Odesa

Prosecutors of the Odesa Regional Prosecutor's Office have sent an indictment to the court regarding a 50-year-old woman — a native of the Russian Federation. She is accused of committing treason (Part 2 of Article 111 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).

According to the investigation, in May 2025, the accused was on the territory of the Russian Federation, where she was recruited by a representative of the special services.

In June of last year, she arrived in Odesa and rented an apartment in a residential complex in the Primorsky district. On the territory of an unfinished building in the Khadyzhbey district, she took money from a cache to carry out a task — in the underground parking lot of this residential complex, the woman was to identify a car belonging to the commander of one of the Defense Forces units and install a GPS tracker on it.

The woman purchased a "Chevrolet Lacetti" for her own transportation, and according to the curator's instructions, she installed the GPS tracker under the military's car in the underground parking lot.

On her way to leave for abroad, the recruited individual was detained by law enforcement officers.

The pre-trial investigation in the criminal proceedings is being conducted by the Security Service of Ukraine in the Odesa region.

Note: According to Article 62 of the Constitution of Ukraine, a person is presumed innocent of committing a crime and cannot be subjected to criminal punishment until their guilt is proven in a lawful manner and established by a court verdict.
