A 52-year-old resident of Lviv was notified of suspicion of murder of People's Deputy of Ukraine Andrii Parubiy.

The head of the Lviv Regional Prosecutor's Office personally signed a notice of suspicion in this case. According to him, «the suspicion is based on objective evidence that indicates that the detained person committed the murder of the People's Deputy».

His actions are qualified under two articles of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, namely: under part 1 of Art. 115 (intentional murder) and part 1 of Art. 263 (illegal handling of weapons).

Investigative actions are currently ongoing with the suspect. Searches are ongoing at his places of residence and stay.

All urgent investigative actions are carried out with the participation of prosecutors, who coordinate the progress of the investigation.

A motion is being prepared for the court to order him to be remanded in custody without bail.

It should be reminded that on August 30, the suspect in Lviv fired eight shots at the People's Deputy, as a result of which the victim died on the spot.

Under the procedural supervision of the Lviv Regional Prosecutor's Office, a pre-trial investigation was launched based on the specified fact. A special operation «Siren» was introduced in Lviv and the region.

On August 31, the suspect's whereabouts were established. He was detained in the territory of Khmelnytskyi region.

The pre-trial investigation is ongoing. Measures are being taken to clarify all the circumstances of the event.

Operational support is provided by the Main Directorate of the National Police in the Lviv Region, the National Police of Ukraine, officers of the Strategic Investigation Department in the Lviv Region of the Department of Strategic Investigation of Ukraine, as well as officers of the Department of the Security Service of Ukraine in the Lviv Region and the SSU.

Note: according to Art. 62 of the Constitution of Ukraine, a person is presumed innocent of committing a crime until their guilt is proven in a lawful manner and established by a guilty verdict of the court.
