On June 26, 2026, four officials of the "Rava-Ruska Forestry" branch of the State Enterprise "Forests of Ukraine" were notified of suspicion regarding illegal logging and abuse of office (Part 4 of Article 246, Part 3 of Article 365 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).

According to the investigation, in violation of the requirements of current legislation, the suspects, exceeding their authority, illegally issued logging tickets for the so-called transformation cuts. As a result of these actions, illegal logging of more than 3,000 trees of various species was carried out.

The actions of the officials caused harm to the environment and the interests of the state amounting to approximately 14.5 million hryvnias.

The suspects have been served with a motion for the selection of preventive measures in the form of detention with an alternative to bail.

Under the procedural guidance of the Lviv Regional Prosecutor's Office, the pre-trial investigation is being conducted by investigators of the first investigative department of the Territorial Administration of the State Bureau of Investigation in Lviv, with operational support from the first operational department of the same administration.

As part of the investigation, the possible involvement of officials from other state forestry enterprises in committing similar offenses is being checked.
