Prosecutors in Luhansk region have submitted an indictment to the court against the former head of the "Severodonetsk Multidisciplinary Hospital" for embezzlement of property through abuse of office (part 5 of Article 191 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).

According to the investigation, the head of the medical institution, acting against the interests of the service, purchased laboratory equipment at a price significantly higher than the market value.

The community of the city of Severodonetsk, represented by the city military administration, suffered damages amounting to over 1.3 million UAH.

Currently, another criminal proceeding against the same accused is already being considered in court for other episodes of illegal activities, which caused damage of more than 5.6 million UAH.

Prosecutors continue to document other possible instances of abuse related to the activities of the former leadership of the medical institution.

The prosecution maintains a position of zero tolerance towards corruption. 

The pre-trial investigation is being conducted by investigators of the Main Directorate of the National Police in Luhansk region.

Note: according to Article 62 of the Constitution of Ukraine, a person is presumed innocent of committing a crime and cannot be subjected to criminal punishment until their guilt is proven in a lawful manner and established by a court verdict.
