The former prosecutor of the Prosecutor's Office of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea was sentenced to 15 years in prison for treason

Under the public prosecution of the prosecutors of the Office of the Attorney General, the court found the former prosecutor of the Prosecutor's Office of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea guilty of treason (Part 1, Part 2 of Article 111 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).

He was sentenced to 15 years of imprisonment with confiscation of property.

It was proven that in April 2014 he switched to the side of the aggressor state. After the occupation of the peninsula, he accepted the offer from representatives of the occupying administration of the Russian Federation and took the position of the so-called prosecutor.

Since 2018, the convicted individual held leadership positions in the illegally created "prosecutor's offices" established by the occupying authorities in the territory of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea. He performed his assigned duties, organized and controlled the activities of subordinates, and coordinated the work of units of the illegally created law enforcement agencies of the Russian Federation.

The criminal proceedings were considered in a special court proceeding (in absentia), as the accused is hiding from justice in the occupied territory.

Special pre-trial investigation was conducted by investigators of the Territorial Office of the State Bureau of Investigations located in the city of Lviv, with operational support from the Security Service of Ukraine.
