Former judge sentenced to 15 years in prison for treason and collaborative activity

Under public prosecution by the prosecutors of Donetsk region, the court found a man, who previously held the position of a judge, guilty under parts 1, 2 of Article 111 and part 7 of Article 111-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine — treason and collaborationist activities. He was sentenced to 15 years in prison, deprived of the right to hold any positions in state authorities and local self-government for 10 years, as well as confiscation of property.

In 2015, after the occupation of Horlivka, the judge of the Kalininsky District Court took the position of a judge in the illegally created "Central City Interdistrict Court of Horlivka DNR." In 2023, by order of the Kremlin leader, he was "reappointed" to the position.

Relying on the norms of the "legislation" of the aggressor state, he issues verdicts that have a punitive rather than a legal nature, turning justice into a tool of pressure. His activities are aimed at consolidating the power of the occupiers, legitimizing their illegal actions, and systematically restricting the rights and freedoms of Ukrainians.

It should be noted that the case against him was sent to court in the spring of 2024. He is currently wanted.

The pre-trial investigation is being conducted by the Territorial Department of the State Bureau of Investigation located in Kramatorsk.
