05.09.2025
Prosecutors of the Left Bank District Prosecutor's Office have notified a former official of a medical institution of suspicion in absentia. She is accused of legalization (money laundering) of property obtained through criminal means (Part 1 of Article 209 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
According to the investigation, the director of one of the primary healthcare centers in Mariupol unjustifiably received 3,058,900 UAH in her bank account as allegedly her salary for March. This amount was unjustifiably credited to her by the chief accountant of the institution, taking advantage of the full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation into Ukraine.
Understanding that the funds were credited illegally and that their amount exceeded her monthly salary by 117 times, the official intentionally legalized part of the "salary," spending over 805.6 thousand UAH. The remaining amount – nearly 2.5 million UAH has been seized and returned to the budget.
Since the woman, who was dismissed from her position in Ukraine upon the expiration of her contract, is hiding from the investigation in the temporarily occupied territory, she has been declared wanted.
The pre-trial investigation is being conducted by the Mariupol District Police Department of the Main Directorate of the National Police in the Donetsk region with operational support from the Strategic Investigations Department of the National Police of Ukraine.
An indictment regarding the chief accountant of the medical institution has been sent to court for the facts of embezzlement, misappropriation, legalization (money laundering) of property obtained through criminal means, and unauthorized actions with information processed in electronic computing machines (computers) - Part 5 of Article 191, Part 1 of Article 209, Part 3 of Article 362 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
Note: According to Article 62 of the Constitution of Ukraine, a person is presumed innocent of committing a crime and cannot be subjected to criminal punishment until their guilt is proven in a lawful manner and established by a guilty verdict of the court.
