Under the procedural guidance of the Luhansk Regional Prosecutor's Office, a change of suspicion and a new suspicion have been announced against the so-called "head of the LPR" for the act of treason committed under martial law (part  2 of article 111 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).

According to the investigation, after the full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation's armed forces into the territory of Ukraine and to this day, while holding the position of "head of the LPR," the suspect is consciously acting in the interests of the aggressor state, maintaining close ties with its military-political leadership and implementing their tasks in the temporarily occupied territory of the Luhansk region.

He provides assistance to representatives of the aggressor country in conducting subversive activities against Ukraine. In particular, he participated in a meeting initiated by the president of the aggressor state in September 2022, during which the so-called "treaty between the Russian Federation and the Luhansk People's Republic on the acceptance of the Luhansk People's Republic into the Russian Federation and the creation of new subjects within the Russian Federation" was signed.

Furthermore, the suspect issues pseudo-decrees aimed at forming and functioning under the legislation of the Russian Federation and the so-called "LPR" of illegal authorities in the temporarily occupied territory. He also systematically holds meetings and consultations with representatives of the occupying army and illegal armed formations that are actively engaged in combat against the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He is involved in the presentation of awards to participants of the so-called "LPR," conferred by the leader of the Russian Federation.

It should be noted that he was previously informed of suspicion for committing a number of crimes against the foundations of national and public security (part 1 of article 111, part 1 of article 109, part 1 of article 258-3, part 2 of article 110 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).

The pre-trial investigation is being conducted by the Main Directorate of the Security Service of Ukraine in the Donetsk and Luhansk regions.
