A resident of Kyiv region, who collected data on military sites and mobile fire groups, sentenced up for state treason up to 15 years in prison

With the support of the public prosecution by prosecutors of the Kyiv City Prosecutor's Office, a 42-year-old resident of Kyiv region, who collected data on military facilities and the location of air defense forces on behalf of the Russian special services, has been sentenced to 15 years of imprisonment with confiscation of property.
The man got acquainted and started cooperating with a representative of the Russian special services through the banned social network "VKontakte" in Ukraine. Subsequently, they moved their communication to Telegram, where from February to March 2025, the accused sent data about military facilities, personnel, and the location of air defense forces in the Kyiv region. He also attached maps of the area to his messages, marking the locations of military facilities.
At the same time, the recruited individual was aware that the information he provided would be used to strike these facilities.
The man was found guilty of treason committed under martial law (Part 2 of Article 111 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
The pre-trial investigation was conducted under the procedural guidance of the Kyiv City Prosecutor's Office by investigators of the Main Investigation Department of the Security Service of Ukraine in Kyiv and the Kyiv region, with operational support from operational staff of the Main Department of the Security Service of Ukraine in Kyiv and the Kyiv region.
Note: according to Article 62 of the Constitution of Ukraine, a person is considered innocent of committing a crime and cannot be subjected to criminal punishment until their guilt is proven in a lawful manner and established by a court verdict.
