A former law enforcement officer who transported conscripts to the border under the guise of special forces will be tried in Bukovina

Prosecutors of the Chernivtsi Regional Prosecutor's Office have sent an indictment to the court against a former police inspector of the Kyiv region. He is accused of assisting in the organization of the illegal transportation of conscripted men across the state border of Ukraine (Part 2 of Article 332 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).

According to the investigation, in August 2025, the law enforcement officer facilitated the transportation of five conscripted men from the Kyiv region to a border area in the Chernivtsi region for their subsequent illegal departure from Ukraine.

To avoid detection at checkpoints, he attempted to disguise the passengers as special unit officers: he prepared uniform clothing; used official transport; and moved with activated flashing lights, creating the appearance of an official business trip.

As they approached the checkpoint in the village of Ataky in the Chernivtsi region, the vehicle was stopped by police and border service officers. The illegal actions were documented. It was established that for organizing the illegal transportation, the men were charged amounts ranging from 3,000 US dollars to 6,000 euros.

The pre-trial investigation was conducted by investigators of the Territorial Department of the State Bureau of Investigations in Khmelnytskyi with operational support from the Security Service of Ukraine in the Chernivtsi region and the 31st border detachment.
