Prosecutors of the Chernivtsi Regional Prosecutor's Office, together with the police, stopped the activities of a channel for the sale of narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances, through which prohibited substances were distributed among consumers in different regions of Ukraine.

More than 9.5 kg of drugs and psychotropic substances were seized from illegal trafficking.

According to the investigation, a resident of the city of Khotyn, Chernivtsi region, was involved in the functioning of the drug business. To find customers, he used a specially created Telegram channel, through which orders were accepted and the sale of prohibited substances was coordinated.

After payment, drugs and psychotropic substances were sent by mail through accounts registered in the name of dummies, or left in hiding places. Customers received photos and coordinates of places where they could pick up the order.

During the documenting of the crime, Alpha-PVP, amphetamine and cannabis with a total value of more than UAH 5 million at black market prices were seized from the man.

He was served a notice of suspicion under Parts 2 and 3 of Art. 307 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine and a measure of restraint in the form of detention was chosen.

The sanction of the incriminated article provides for up to 12 years in prison.

Other persons involved in the crime are being identified.

The pre-trial investigation is carried out by investigators of the Main Directorate of the National Police in Chernivtsi region with the operational support of employees of the Department of Internal Security of the National Police of Ukraine.
