Prosecutors of the Chernivtsi District Prosecutor's Office, together with the police, uncovered a resident of the Lviv region who promised assistance for money in avoiding military service and evading punishment for desertion.

The man offered a relative of a serviceman 16,000 euros to influence medical institution employees to provide false conclusions about his health status.

Such documents were to serve as grounds for the serviceman's release from further military service due to health reasons and for his removal from military registration. Additionally, they would explain that his desertion from the military unit was unintentional.

Law enforcement officers detained the citizen near Chernivtsi while he was receiving an unlawful benefit. He has been notified of suspicion of abuse of influence (Part 3 of Article 369-2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).

Currently, the issue of choosing a preventive measure is being resolved.

The pre-trial investigation is being conducted by investigators of the Chernivtsi District Police Department with operational support from the Strategic Investigations Department in the Chernivtsi region.
