Prosecutors of the Chernivtsi Regional Prosecutor's Office, together with detectives from the Bureau of Economic Security, have stopped the illegal sale of alcoholic beverages. 

It has been established that the illegal business was organized by local entrepreneurs. They were selling alcohol at the city market without the appropriate licenses.

During searches at the place of sale, law enforcement seized nearly 5,000 bottles of alcohol of various volumes, over 700,000 in cash, and handwritten notes.

Criminal proceedings have been registered under Part 1 of Article 199 and Part 1 of Article 204 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. Necessary examinations have been appointed, and the identification of all involved persons is ongoing.

The pre-trial investigation is being conducted by detectives of the Territorial Department of the Bureau of Economic Security in the Chernivtsi region.

Note: according to Article 62 of the Constitution of Ukraine, a person is presumed innocent of committing a crime and cannot be subjected to criminal punishment until their guilt is proven in a lawful manner and established by a court verdict.
