In Cherkasy region, the former head of a state-owned enterprise was informed of suspicion of official negligence, which led to the loss of grain worth UAH 5.9 million

The Cherkasy Regional Prosecutor's Office continues to protect the interests of honest businesses and hold accountable officials whose actions or inactions cause losses to the state and enterprises.

Under the procedural guidance of the prosecutor's office, the former director of a state enterprise has been notified of suspicion of official negligence (part 2 of Article 367 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).

The pre-trial investigation has established that the official, responsible for the economic activities of the enterprise, failed to ensure proper accounting, reporting, and control over the storage of grain. He did not develop the necessary internal rules and accounting forms, did not organize control over the movement of material values, and did not take measures to preserve them.

As a result, the enterprise violated the terms of the grain storage contract concluded with one of the leading agricultural enterprises in Ukraine. During the inspection, a loss of over a thousand tons of corn worth 5.9 million UAH was discovered.

The affected party is one of the largest grain producers and exporters in Ukraine.

The pre-trial investigation is being conducted by investigators of the National Police under the procedural guidance of the prosecutor's office.

Note: according to Article 62 of the Constitution of Ukraine, a person is presumed innocent of committing a crime and cannot be subjected to criminal punishment until their guilt is proven in a lawful manner and established by a guilty verdict of the court.
