In the Dnipropetrovsk region, a man who molested and committed sexual crimes against his own minor children was sentenced to 15 years in prison

Under the public prosecution of juvenile prosecutors from the Nikopol District Prosecutor's Office, the court found the father of three minor children guilty of crimes against sexual freedom and sexual inviolability (Part 4 of Article 152, Part 2 of Article 156 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine) and sentenced him to 15 years of imprisonment.

In February 2020, due to inadequate conditions for the children’s upbringing and the evasion of parental responsibilities, the parents of children aged 8, 9, and 11 were deprived of parental rights. The children were removed from the dysfunctional family and placed with guardians.

In the new family, the children reported that their father, in 2019, when their mother was absent, repeatedly committed sexual offenses against them. The guardians immediately reported this to law enforcement authorities.

During the court hearing, the convicted individual did not admit guilt. The time for appealing the verdict is ongoing.

After the verdict comes into legal force, information about the convicted individual will be entered into the Unified Register of Persons Convicted of Crimes Against Sexual Freedom and Sexual Inviolability of Minors.

Pre-trial investigation was conducted by investigators from the Nikopol District Police Department.
