Under the procedural guidance of prosecutors from the Dnipropetrovsk Regional Prosecutor's Office, two local residents have been notified of suspicion for the illegal sowing and cultivation of hemp, committed by a group of individuals in conspiracy for the purpose of sale. Their actions have been qualified under part 2 of Article 310 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.

According to the investigation, a man, involving his cohabitant in the illegal activity, organized the cultivation of hemp in greenhouses under the guise of growing vegetables on his own property in the Kamianske district.

Using means of concealment, the suspects set up an irrigation system and carried out care and cultivation of the prohibited plants.

During a sanctioned search, law enforcement officers discovered and seized hemp bushes, the value of which on the "black market" is approximately 7 million UAH.

The illegal activity was uncovered in collaboration with employees of the Department of Internal Security of the National Police of Ukraine.

Note: according to Article 62 of the Constitution of Ukraine, a person is presumed innocent of committing a crime and cannot be subjected to criminal punishment until their guilt is proven in a lawful manner and established by a guilty verdict of the court.
