In the Odesa region , a 25-year-old man in May agreed to an offer to "earn extra money" from an enemy agent.  He found a Ford Transit car parked in the Odesa district, which, according to external signs, could be used for the needs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, and agreed on the target with the curator. 

From an acquaintance who did not know about the suspect's criminal intent, he borrowed a plastic bottle of fuel. In the evening, he doused the hood with a pre-prepared flammable mixture and set it on fire, and sent the video to the curator. For what he did, he received 4 thousand hryvnias.

In the Kirovohrad region , three accomplices were exposed at once: two 21-year-old men and a 23-year-old roommate of one of them. According to the investigation, at the end of May, one of them, in search of quick money, came across an offer on Telegram to perform "tasks" for a monetary reward. An unknown curator proposed to set fire to cars used by Ukrainian servicemen, and photos and videos were supposed to be confirmation of the work done.

He involved a roommate and an acquaintance in arson. On the evening of May 26, 2026, a soldier's car was doused with a flammable substance, set on fire and recorded the result on a mobile phone.

Later, on June 1, at about three o'clock in the morning, the accomplices set fire to another car, also sending photos and videos to the curator. 

Currently, all four have been served notices of suspicion under Part 2 of Art. 28, Part 1 of Art. 114-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine and Part 2 of Art. 28, Part 2 of Art. 194 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.

The pre-trial investigation is carried out by investigators of the National Police with the operational support of the Security Service of Ukraine and the procedural guidance of the Oleksandriia District Prosecutor's Office and the Odesa Regional Prosecutor's Office.

According to Art. 62 of the Constitution of Ukraine, a person is considered innocent of committing a crime and cannot be subjected to criminal punishment until his/her guilt is legally proven and established by a guilty verdict of the court.
