Under the procedural guidance of prosecutors from the Office of the Attorney General, three individuals have been charged with organizing the illegal cultivation of cannabis, the production, and distribution of cannabis.
Their actions have been classified under Part 3 of Article 307 and Part 2 of Article 310 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
According to the investigation, the drug business was organized by three residents of the Kyiv region, who developed a detailed scheme for illegal earnings from the cultivation of narcotic plants and the sale of the produced narcotic products.
The plants were well cared for: they were fenced, watered, and video surveillance was installed.
Dried narcotic plants were stored in a specially equipped room. From the obtained raw materials, cannabis was produced, which was sold to "clients" across the country.
During searches at the locations of cultivation and production of narcotic substances, more than 400 cannabis plants and 60 kg of narcotic substances, along with other evidence, were discovered and seized.
The value of the seized narcotic goods on the "black market" is over 15 million hryvnias.
The pre-trial investigation was conducted by investigators from the Main Investigative Department with operational support from the Department for Combating Drug Crimes of the National Police, in cooperation with employees of the Main Directorate of the Security Service of Ukraine in Kyiv and the Kyiv region.
Note: According to Article 62 of the Constitution of Ukraine, a person is presumed innocent of committing a crime and cannot be subjected to criminal punishment until their guilt is proven in a lawful manner and established by a guilty verdict of the court.
