Under the procedural guidance of the Brovary District Prosecutor's Office, a group of individuals has been notified of suspicion related to the creation and operation of a drug laboratory.

According to the investigation, acting in collusion, they set up a special laboratory in the basement of a private house belonging to one of the participants. There, using professional equipment, they illegally grew cannabis and produced the narcotic substance cannabis for the purpose of further sale.

In total, law enforcement conducted 18 searches at the residences and in the vehicles of the group members.

Law enforcement seized 180 cannabis plants of various sizes, which, according to expert conclusions, belong to the genus Cannabis. More than 3.8 kg of ready-made psychotropic substances of cannabis were also seized. 

Additionally, firearms and traumatic weapons, ammunition, mobile phones, bank cards, about 32 thousand US dollars in cash, office equipment, and narcotic substances were confiscated.

All five individuals have been notified of suspicion under the following articles of the Criminal Code of Ukraine:

• Part 2 of Article 317 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine — maintaining a place for the illegal production of narcotic substances, committed by a group of individuals;

• Part 2 of Article 310 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine — illegal sowing and cultivation of cannabis;

• Part 3 of Article 307 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine — illegal production and sale of narcotic substances in especially large amounts.

Currently, a motion has been submitted to the court to choose a preventive measure in the form of detention for all suspects.

The pre-trial investigation is being conducted by the Brovary District Police Department under the procedural guidance of the Brovary District Prosecutor's Office, with operational support from the Security Service of Ukraine and the criminal police.

Note: according to Article 62 of the Constitution of Ukraine, a person is presumed innocent of committing a crime and cannot be subjected to criminal punishment until their guilt is proven in a lawful manner and established by a guilty verdict of the court.
